WITH EXCLUSIVE ALUMNI MIX SERIES
Tune in to mixes from Black Coffee, Nina Kraviz, Sinjin Hawke & more

July 31, 2018] Ahead of Red Bull Music Academy’s 20th anniversary edition in Berlin this September and October, Red Bull Radio has curated the RBMA20 Alumni Mix Series. To celebrate the occasion, Red Bull Radio will reflect on the transformative minds who have joined the Academy over the past two decades, featuring a collection of exclusive mixes from 20 celebrated RBMA alumni.

From 30th July onwards Red Bull Radio will premiere a new mix each weekday, featuring Russian techno star Nina Kraviz, South African house music maestro Black Coffee, Canadian bass wizard and Kanye West collaborator Sinjin Hawke, as well as 20-year-old Swedish club music innovator Toxe, rising electronic heroine Marie Davidson, British low-end futurist Mumdance, and many more.

Featuring 20 artists, hailing from 16 countries and six continents, the RBMA20 Alumni Mix Series is a true celebration of the most exciting music scenes around the world. Each of the 20 artists featured in the Mix Series came to the Academy at a pivotal time in their career, and have since gone on to do exciting and unique things in their musical field.

The RBMA20 Alumni Mix Series is part of a wide-ranging series of Red Bull Radio programming that will shine a light on both the host city Berlin and the Academy’s own rich history from the past 20 years. Tune in to Red Bull Radio for the best new music, in-depth interviews, and unique stories from the 20th Anniversary Edition of RBMA at the historic Funkhaus studio complex in Berlin.

Of the 61 music makers, two South Africans, Cornelius SA and Jakinda will join the Red Bull Music Academy in 2018.

Self-taught producer and DJ, Jakinda, who makes up one-half of the group Stiff Pap fuses kwaito, hip-hop and gqom to create afro-future electronica. The Edenvale resident is the man behind the 2017 hit song, Dlala. Joining him is Cornelius SA who hails from South Africa’s deep house capital, Pretoria. Keep Your Mouth Shut which received radio airplay and popularity throughout the country, is a deep house track spiked with soul, Afro-house and just a twinge of techno.

South African alumni’s include Christian Tiger School, Jullian Gomes, Black Coffee and Culoe de Song.
